You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

In order to ensure that the translations of your pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party will work well, be correct and be in line with style guides and term glossaries (Ref: https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/tools/glotpress-translate-wordpress-org/list-of-glossaries-per-locale/ ) we want the translation editorsTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor to know the target language well.
This means that usually we prefer the translators themselves to make/upload their contributions at translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins. and join the local SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/.   hi!
  we will offer translations currently only for german (and english). Further translations could be follow (IT, FR, ES), but at the moment we focus on this 2 languages.

    Therefore, their team prioritizes those projects, where the translator themselves are actively present, join the German SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. in order to request feedback and with the goal to get appointed as PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves..
    So my question to you is: How did you obtain this pending translation? Do you personally know German well?

        Great. I’ve added the tag #de_DE in your post (and also mentioned it here in order to trigger a notification to their team.)
        With English: Whatever stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. you put in your code and readme will be regarded by the WordPress infrastructure as en_US. In other words, we translate from en_US all the time, but never to en_US.
        However, there are several additional English localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ listed in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/, most notably en_GB, en_AU and en_CA. If you feel a great urge, you could translate/adapt those translations. But if there’s no language pack for a localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/, the original strings will be showed in en_US. For plugins with front-end strings, like yours, you may want to provide a good localized version for these locales. Now: at least en_CA and en_GB have created huge glossaries that, when combined with the browser add-on GlotDict allows you to streamline the translation work. Before spending lots of time on the English locales, I’d suggest that you get in touch with @garrett-eclipse or @markscottrobson to learn how to do this really quickly.

Thanks for getting in touch with the German Polyglots teamPolyglots Team Polyglots Team is a group of multilingual translators who work on translating plugins, themes, documentation, and front-facing marketing copy. https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/.! I could check your request for Editor rights. Therefore, I took a look at your suggested translation. Unfortunately, I had to reject a lot of stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. that weren’t in accordance with our Style Guide and Glossary, and some even had typos or grammar mistakes (missing hyphens).
A basic mistake was also to use the formal “Sie” for translations. For de_DE default we use “du/dir/dein” (not “Du/Dir/Dein” !!!). There is a separate version for formal translations. But first we should get the informal version ready.

So I suggest that you take a close look at our Linkliste für Polyglots and especially Deutscher Style Guide, Deutsches Glossar und Durchkoppeln mit und ohne Bindestrich.

So for the moment I could not grant you Editor rights. But when you’ve submitted correct translations and updated the waiting strings in accordance to our guidelines, feel free to contact me here (@jensratzel) or better join us on the German Slack #polyglots channel. In this case we suggest that you first adjust the original string, so that other translators for other languages do have the chance to get it right, too.
