You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Hello everyone, I have been fortunate to be an organizer of Meetups to WordCamps in my locality and I would like to support in the translation part in WordPress GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale., I have contacted the Local Manager of es-mx (@marcozink) and the others GTE’s and it has not answered me for a long time, That’s why I publish this here.

I would like to help with translations in es-mx since there are plugins with incomplete translations and no progress is seen. There are plugins that have long been waiting for the translations and nobody approves them and they stay there.

In my town (where the meetups are held), attendees say they are going to another language (es-es) since there are 100% translated plugins, themes and others.

That is why I want to help the es-mx community of translators and translations grow and the es-mx facilities are more.

+: I don’t know if being a translation editorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles: General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor (GTE) is enough to approve translations, I would need to know what to do.

As far as I can tell, Marco Zink has not been active for at least a year. That being the case, the translation team is working hard to catch up on all their work. I suggest getting in contact with one of the other four translation editorsTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor in charge of es_MX. Good luck!

Also, I think es_MX team needs more localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ managers to handle – would be great if you could start a conversation about that.

  If you start it, you pingPing The act of sending a very small amount of data to an end point. Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along the lines of “Ping me when the meeting starts.” me 🙂

  There are stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. waiting to be reviewed from months ago, and maybe more. Hopefully the four of us that are interested can help to at least finish that pending work.

I’d like a lot to contribute again to make WP apps and documentation again! Years ago I’ve contributed some pages of the Codex and now getting involved in the community (Participated in WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress.       Thanks. I’m already approaching training and community. However for most of people south of Río Bravo the greater barrier is always the language. Therefore the interest in helping with translation @tobifjellner.
      
      Some friends are looking to organize a Contribution Day but lacking the permissions to commit translations except in Codex wiki. Could you help us to change that @tokyobiyori?

And, among other things, we’ll sort out how you could run a successful contribution day with translations.

        @tzkmx One more thing you may want to keep an eye on is “helphub” that is going to replace codex. The docs team has migrated almost all English content into articles in HelpHub and right now there is an ongoing project to open HelpHub on various localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ sites. Obiously, all these articles are going to need to be translated.
