# Agenda: Weekly Polyglots Chat – October 30, 2019 (12 GMT)

Here’s the agenda for our weekly chat.

in the [#polyglots](https://wordpress.slack.com/messages/polyglots/) channel in
the [“Making WordPress” Slack](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/).

 * [WordPress 5.3](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2019/10/03/wordpress-5-3-ready-to-be-translated/):
    - The release is scheduled for beginning of November
    - It is available for [translation](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev/),
      and currently in hard string freezeString freeze The term "string freeze"
      is used by the core team to mark the end of changes to the strings of an upcoming
      release. A string freeze also means that there will be no more strings added
      to the core project. Sometimes a string freeze has two phases a [soft freeze](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#soft-freeze)
      and a [hard freeze](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#hard-freeze).
      A string freeze is announced on the [Polyglots blog](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots)
      by the current release lead. (i.e. hopefully no new stringsString A string
      is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude
      of localized strings. before the release).
    - Also keep an eye on the new standard theme [Twenty Twenty](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-themes/twentytwenty/)
      and the plugins [Health Check](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/health-check/)
      and [Gutenberg](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/gutenberg/).
    - Also: If you’ve got commit access to your locale under [https://i18n.wordpress.org/](https://i18n.wordpress.org/)
      then please make sure that you have created a directory “5.3” under /branches/
      in accordance with the [instructions for automated releases in our handbook](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/translating/packaging-localized-wordpress/automated-release-packages/).
 * Meeting times reminder

      may move accordingly.
    - On Wednesday November 6 at 21:30 GMT (time corrected, was half an hour off),
      we’ll have our first monthly chat on “Americas friendly time”. It will repeat
      the first Wednesday every month.
