HelpHub i18nInternationalization Internationalization (sometimes shortened to I18N , meaning “I - eighteen letters -N”) is the process of planning and implementing products and services so that they can easily be adapted to specific local languages and cultures, a process called localization. This is the process of making software translatable. Information about Internationalization for developers can be found in the Developer’s handbooks.

All locale specific WordPress sites are referred to as “Rosetta sites.” The name was inspired from the ancient Rosetta Stone, which contained more or less the same text in three different languages. sites

Translations: 203 (±0) total, 51 (+1) at 100%, 15 (-1) over 95%, 8 (±0) over 90%, 37 (±0) over 50%, 80 (±0) below 50%, 117 (±0) have a language pack generated, 12 (±0) have no project.
Requests: There are 141 unresolved editor requests out of 2 680 (+12) total and 8 unresolved locale requests out of 115 (+1) total.

Japanese team got started this week and moving forward – there are some bumps but we managed to figure out most of them, thanks to @atachibana and other 11 contributors. There are a few concerns (bugs/unclarity) around permission/roles (more details).

Slug Translation

@netweb @audrasjb @ibdz agreed it’d be ok to leave the slugs untranslated for now and make the redirect available.
@fierevere added an option to translate the slug + default English slug redirect will be excellent.
@nullbyte said we could translate the slugs later and have the linked slugs ready then (with an APIAPI An API or Application Programming Interface is a software intermediary that allows programs to interact with each other and share data in limited, clearly defined ways.).

Handbook on Rosetta sites

Handbook are enebled on 90+ Rosetta sites, and others can request it.
Thanks @casiepa for writing the doc and working on enabling handbooks.

Dealing with spammy users

1.
