You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Hello Polyglots!

I’ve just finished updating the translations of Paid Memberships Pro to Brazilian Portuguese, at Developer’s request. I also would like to request to become a PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. for this Project (Paid Memberships Pro) in order to be able to Fix all Fuzzy/Warning translations for it.

Hi. Please re-read our translation guidelines, especially the lowercase/uppercase section. Also, please consider installing the GlotDict browser addon. You have “check-out” there and this is a word we already have in our glossary.

PingPing The act of sending a very small amount of data to an end point. Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along the lines of “Ping me when the meeting starts.” me here when you have that sorted out and I’ll be happy to check again.

  Hey @felipeelia I have the GlotDict extension active and I use it. About lowercase/uppercase, the problem is that most Developers use one time lowercase, then they use Uppercase, then lowercase again… I try to find and mantain some consistency but it’s quite hard.
  
  Optionally, I may just keep lower/upper case according to the originals. Could you please mark as Fuzzy those StringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. so I can make new suggestions and Reject the old/wrong ones?
  
  Sorry again for my mistakes, please let me know what I should do when Devs are changing Uppercase/lowercase all the time for the same word, and I’ll be glad to stick to a single policy. I want to be 100% compliant.
  
  Thank you once more I’ll keep looking forward to check the Fuzzy Strings that I may correct. Also would love to learn other mistakes I’m doing, so I can fix.

    Hi. For lowercase/uppercase you should follow the guide, not the original.

      Understood: just first letter on first word is Uppercase.
      
      Also ok about the Fuzzy, but instead of marking them I just create another suggestion and reject that wrong ones, is that ok?

      Hey @felipeelia I’ve corrected a lot the file. About the Upper/lowercase issue, please note that most Approved StringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. witht his mistake were already there before I came in.
      
      So I should translate EVERY stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. just first letter Upercase? Hou should I translate those?
      
      “reCAPTCHA Version” –> “Versão do recaptcha”?
      “CSSCSS CSS is an acronym for cascading style sheets. This is what controls the design or look and feel of a site. Class” –> “Classe do css”?
      “Displays the member’s Membership Invoices” –> “Exibir as faturas de associação do associado”?
      
      Just to cite some. If you say “yes, all lowercase”, then I’ll go for it!
      
      I’ll keep looking forward from you on that, so I can fix it today.

  reCAPTCHA é um nome de produto, seria como traduzir Net, Apple, etc… Matenha como é 🙂

    Quanto a reCaptcha, muitas vezes é escrito desta forma (apenas o C maiúsculo), e como houve queixas de Muita Caixa Alta, pediram pra “abaixar” onde fosse possível… Ainda é bastante confuso, pouco consistente entre os diversos plugins… Mas se for o solicitado eu posso mudar todos para reCAPTCHA. Tento sempre manter todas as marcas e nomes próprios com Maiúsculas, mas erros podem ocorrer.
    
    Quanto às siglas como CSSCSS CSS is an acronym for cascading style sheets. This is what controls the design or look and feel of a site., sempre coloco em caixa alta, pode ter passado alguma ocorrência mas no geral eu sempre coloco maiúsculas.
    
    Por último, quanto a Memberships, anteriormente estava traduzido como Assinaturas (que é Subscriptions), por isso foi alterado e espero que possa ser aprovado este termo, que é o mais correto.
    
    Fico no aguardo, espero que isso possa ser aprovado, os complementos gratuitos do PMPro estão aguardando tradução.
