You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Weekly Meetings

Hi,

Yes. The localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ was created earlier. Actually, you can jump right in and start suggesting translations at https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/kmr/default/wp/dev

In the meantime, someone in the global mentor team will get around to create the team and make you locale manager and global translation editorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor.

I’d suggest you look trough https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/ and start thinking of terminology for a glossary.

  Hi, thank you for your response. I’ll get on translating asap. I’ve been looking at the handbook for some time now, thanks for the tip!     It’s hard to say. There are only a couple of people who know all those steps really well and their time is limited. If we’re lucky, they might be able to sort this out within a couple of days.

    Hi there! It has been more than a week. Is there any progress on this? There still isn’t a team for Kurmanji. I and a group of people we’re working in the background and we’d like to start uploading our work as soon as possible. So please let me know if there’s anything I can do to speed this up!

The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
        General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor for Kurmanji Kurdish. A bunch of highly dedicated people have been gathered to get this long-postponed job done so people can get to create websites using their main language. I don’t think it is fair that we’ve been waiting all this time. Like I said before we’re ready to do what it takes to make this proccess faster and finish it so we can work on the glossary and begin verifying translations. Otherwise it’s a shame having all these people wait. Thanks once again!

A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ was defined in GlotPressGlotPress GlotPress is the translation management software that powers Translate.WordPress.org. More information is available at glotpress.org., so it’s under way.

  It’s more of an administrative thing in several steps. We need to update the relevant entry in https://github.com/GlotPress/GlotPress-WP/blob/develop/locales/locales.php and then deployDeploy Launching code from a local development environment to the production web server, so that it's available to visitors. this to our systems.
