You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Don’t see your language? You can request support for it.

The whole idea with having PTEProject Translation Editor A Project Translation Editor (often referred to as PTE) is a person, who has access to validate strings on a specific project (for example BuddyPress, WooCommerce or Twenty Fourteen) for one specific locale. A project translation editor can approve strings that are added by translation contributors. Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. that know the target language is that they will be able to vouch for good translation quality and that the end-user will get a consistent experience.
So, what languages do you know well enough to be sure that the translations you provide or approve really are good?

  We don’t have any localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ en_EN (the full locale list can be found at https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ )
  
  Our English localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ are usually quite quick at approving pending translations. So a good start is probably to first make sure that the strings in your code are in en_US, and then you may start suggesting translations for the other English locales. Hi @nirus, for en_CA and en_GB you need prerequisites: not for now!

Is evident that:
- No camel case
- No indiscriminate use of – inside two words
- Do not send different translations for the same words.
- Do not send different translations for the same stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings..
The original local language of the readme.txt file must be written in en_US and not in your local language.
