Need more editors in Arabic Locale

Arabic currently has two localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ (and general) editors: @alex-ye and @rasheed .

I’ve seen several examples of Arabic translations waiting a very long time for review. Looking around at other languages it seems that two editors is a very low number.

Is there a general rule or advice for how many editors to have in a local? Also, are there any specific requirements for someone to become an editor?

@alibasheer and I would like to get involved as general editors for the Arabic locale. It’s not very satisfying to submit translations and then have them sit for months without review. We feel that more general editors will help speed up the review process and hopefully attract more volunteer translators.

Thanks.
