You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Hi, I would like to know how to export translation files before they are approved…? I would really like to use a pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party (Ultimate Member) and make use of the unfinished translation into Finnish, because it already has 50 % of the work done… But when I export, I only get the English versions, none of the unapproved work…=

1. Visit the relevant translation project. https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/ultimate-member/dev/fi/default
2. Hit the “FilterFilter Filters are one of the two types of Hooks https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Hooks. They provide a way for functions to modify data of other functions. They are the counterpart to Actions. Unlike Actions, filters are meant to work in an isolated manner, and should never have side effects such as affecting global variables and output.” link, select Current/waiting/fuzzy + untranslated (All) and click on button “Filter”.

3. At the bottom of the page, select Export “only matching the filter” as “Portable object…”

By the way, if you know Finnish well, perhaps you’d be interested in supporting this translation with your own translations, and by validating the pending ones?

Per project translation, editors are appointed by a general translation editor after a request by the project author or by the contributors themselves. Hi, thanks for the replies. I am currently having a lot of trouble installing the pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party and all kinds of problems (eg. to uninstall totally, to have the plugin send activation emails etc.). If I manage to solve these, indeed I might wish to help by doing the translation.

  Some WordPress installations may have problems sending e-mails due to various protections against spamming that the web host and/or involved e-mail providers may have in place.
  Usually, a good workaround is to install a pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party that will send any outgoing e-mail via an authenticated connection to a normal e-mail outgoing service. A quick search via https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/smtp/ gives you several options.
