## Tech update

 * The teams page on [https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/)
   is now fully operational again.

## WordPress 4.7 release

 * We are in soft string freezeString freeze The term "string freeze" is used by
the core team to mark the end of changes to the strings of an upcoming release.
A string freeze also means that there will be no more strings added to the core
project. Sometimes a string freeze has two phases a [soft freeze](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#soft-freeze)
   and a [hard freeze](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#hard-freeze).
A string freeze is announced on the [Polyglots blog](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots)
by the current release lead.. All translators are kindly requested to focus on
the remaining stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software.
A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. to get all locale
   to 100%
 * No news on the subtitles for the video
 * Release deadline of 6-Dec seems to be maintained.

## Open Discussion

 * [@swissspidy](https://profiles.wordpress.org/swissspidy/) has posted the outcome
of his research on preferred languages https://make.wordpress.org/core/2016/11/
25/preferred-languages-research/ . If you know any software not on the list and
can add info or practical use on the UX, please do so.
 * Pages like [https://sq.wordpress.org/plugins/about/](https://sq.wordpress.org/plugins/about/)
are English only. That page should disappear at a certain moment because it will
be (or is) replaced with [https://sq.wordpress.org/plugins-wp/developers/](https://sq.wordpress.org/plugins-wp/developers/)
