You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Don’t see your language? You can request support for it.

Hi,

I would like to know how I can get in touch with the current editors of the Kazakhstan Groups as I have a lot of Kazakh students (Native Kazakh speakers) who are very proficient in English and are ideal candidates to help with this translation project…

I have not yet managed to find a way contact them and can see that it has been many months since anything has been approved and the last time anyone even submitted a recommendation was 3 weeks. ago.

To this end – I am wondering if we can recommended a few individuals for editing and then I can get my students cracking translating for the new editors to have something to check and approve.

Many thanks in advance for a prompt response – we need to get the momentum going again! 🙂

  To be honest it was a long time ago and it was not myself who did it; just in case we didn’t do it this way i.e. my partner in crime has recently left the part of Kazakhstan I reside (and it is quicker to just get on with it) – I have take the liberty of sending a message to them via the form you have provided.
  
  As time is of the essence i.e. we have the winter holidays coming up, how long do you think is reasonable for us to wait before we consider escalating this via other means, as I have a large number of Kazakh students with very good English from very respectable colleges and universities who could move this forward and complete it within a very short period of time.

    We have a process for inactive localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ described here https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/translating/inactive-translations/ and I think we can follow it.
    
    Since the only two editors for #kk have not been active in the past several years, we don’t need to wait for two weeks them to get back to you. We can add you as a Translation EditorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
    General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor for the localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ and you can work with your students on the translations.
    
    It’s an awesome initiative, thank you for taking this on!
    
    We’ll be here to help out with the process. There’s also an upcoming Global WordPress Translation Day (November 12th), it would be awesome if you and your students participated in that.
