This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

There are stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. in wp-admin which have wrong plural formatting, they currently come up as 2 strings which only allows localizers to follow English style plurals:

These need properly prepared so each localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ has the option to translate the correct number of plurals (in our case, we need 4 different translations).

I’ve created ticket https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/37811 for the stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. in wp-admin/includes/update.php.

Update: this problem was already reported in https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/37287, so please follow that ticket for updates.

As it’s a coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. issue and the team is going to handle it, I’m going to mark this request as resolved and let’s continue to follow progress on the core ticket.
