Can you please explain the difference between formal and informal English? I’m having trouble thinking of examples.

For example, in German, the difference is between “du” and “sie,” and in Spanish the difference is between “tu” and “usted(es).”

We use a wide range of colloquialisms and slang in day to day life here, these phrases are typically not noticed until we leave our shores travelling and Non-Australians become genuinely confused at what we’re saying.

Hence, the blokes and sheilas from WP Australia are seeking a fair dinkum true blue ridgy didge WordPress variant, fun, and representative of our daily language, and informal.

  I spoke to some of the other #en-au GTEs for #en-au and I think the dominating opinion was that AU informal should not be an official variant of the localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ as it’s not really representative of the language. What you’re asking for sounds more like it would be suitable for either a pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party people can use (like the German gender neutral one https://wordpress.org/plugins/stringintelligenz/) or as a separate locale for an artificial language like Emoji.
