 23. Hey Bego and FX,
 24. I myself are not natively speaking German nor French. However the reason I was
mostly asking is that both the translation files I’ve got with the pluginPlugin
A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added

have been done by native people and we want to include these (import them) into
     the space here at WordPress.
 25. I can understand that potentially you don’t want to grant this account access
to these languages since I’m not the native speaker, but the translations have
been made use POEdit by natives speakers and I would just like to import them
for our plugin. Being a translate editor for my own plugin seems to be the only
     possibility to import them right?

      * While I perfectly understand your request, I’m simply not allowed to grant
you permissions if you aren’t a native speaker, as this would imply that every
author of plugins or themes can import their po-files without validation. As
a result we would soon have dozens of plugins and themes with automated/flawed
translations and provide a poor user experience.
      * It would be my pleasure to support you by importing your po-file. However,
our translation software currently doesn’t allow us to import text stringsString

I could import them as validated, but would need to go through your translation,

sent you the files so we can work on getting them approved? Both German and French
translations are the most complete ones at the moment for our plugin (I think
     almost a 100% complete).
 34. The translation files are included with the latest release again of our plugin
and updated as well. Maybe that’s the easiest way to obtain them? Let me know
how we can assist to get them included.
 35. In the mean time I will try to talk to our Spanish translator to have that translation
done at the same level as the other translations too.

      * Unfortunately, this file was a perfect example, why we _don’t_ automatically
grant permissions to validate plugins and themes to authors, who don’t speak
        our language natively:
         - The translation was a mixture of informal (default) and formal German,
         - had many typos,
         - lots of automated translation of text stringsString A string is a translatable
part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized
strings. (which in most cases simply sounded ridiculous but for some text
           strings didn’t work at all),
         - didn’t match our [Glossary](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev/de/default/glossary)
           and
         - didn’t follow our [Translation Style Guide](https://de.wordpress.org/mitwirken/style-guide-fuer-uebersetzungen/).
      * It took me a about three hours to go through this plugin, which has approximately
100+ active installs. (Our general goal is to translate the 100 most popular
themes and plugins first. As my time for voluntary work is limited, I had to
drop the translation of other plugins.)
After finishing the work, I imported
the translation as default, but I refuse to spend more time to finish the formal
version, which probably would take another two hours of work.
      * I may recommend, that you ask your users to support you with future translations
        via [https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/inbound-rocket](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/inbound-rocket)
and report to their local communities when a translation has been completed.
        As [mentioned before](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2016/08/04/hello-polyglots-im-the-author-of-this-plugin-2/#comment-273281),
this makes it easier for all, to handle translations of your plugin.
      * Best regards and much success for your plugin,
         Bego ([@pixolin](https://profiles.wordpress.org/pixolin/))

         - Hey @pixolon,
         - Wow, thanks a lot for the help you’re doing here. I will indeed ask my translators
to do it like this in the future to help improve the process and be in line
with the guidelines. As stated before we had a local German friend of us
translate it, and I was not aware of the mixture of formal and informal
           language.
         - I can totally understand your reasoning to switch to higher used plugins
as well of course. Nonetheless again thanks for your support here, I will
for sure mention the above links around style guides, etc. to see with him
how we can improve the translation.
         - Have a great day!
            Hans
