A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ is in progress, just adding a short note to let you know you’ll be notified here when we’re done.

  We’re going to move things along here now.
  
  There has been an internal discussion regarding the localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ due to the lack of an official ISO country code for Kosovo. As translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins. uses official ISO standardization, we looked into alternatives and decided to go with the temporary code that the European Commission and many other organizations (Deutsche Bundesbank, Switzerland) are using for Kosovo – ‘XK‘ (source: https://geonames.wordpress.com/2010/03/08/xk-country-code-for-kosovo/)
  
  The locale code is going to be `sq_XK` (sq – the ISO-639-2 language code for Shqip and the temporary country code XK) and the site subdomain will be sq-xk
  
  That will be used until ISO assigns an official one and then, if need be, we can change it.
  
  That will change the locale data as follows:

Thank you for your patience. Shqip is now ready for translation. Here are the important links:

https://sq-xk.wordpress.org/ – your RosettaRosetta The code name of the theme for the local WordPress sites (eg. bg.wordpress.org is a “Rosetta” site). All locale specific WordPress sites are referred to as “Rosetta sites.” The name was inspired from the ancient Rosetta Stone, which contained more or less the same text in three different languages. site (local site). So I would start by setting up the site and adding a page for potential translators to help out.
The development project is ready for translation at https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/sq-xk/default/wp.
Alongside WordPress itself, it’s good to prioritise translating the projects that ship with it first – The default themes Twenty Sixteen, Twenty Fifteen, Twenty Fourteen and Akismet.
