Hello Polyglots, could someone point me in the right direction to request approval for the Marathi (mr) localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/? Me and a group of friends decided to work on the translation, however all the stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. we are translating are presently waiting for approval.

It’s been a week and it seems that the editor is awol. I used the contact form on the locale’s subdomain to reach the translation editorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles: General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor as well, however havent received any response. What is the protocol for becoming one of the editors?

Sometimes it takes General Translation EditorsTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor a bit more time to validate stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.. We currently have no way of notifying them when there are new strings to validate, so it makes it even harder for them.

As Alin showed you above, the best way of contacting them is to mention them in a post here, that triggers an email notification for them.

We also got a new General Translation EditorGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale. request for Marathi (https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2016/03/21/hello-guys-i-am-working-on-the-marathi/) and hopefully will expand the General Translation Editors team soon 🙂

@kidakaa, lets make this happen together, keep translating like we are already, so once the decision on the GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale. is done, we can just approve them, in that case we will be closer to finishing it before 24th.

@petya I’d like to pitch in as well. During the break I was discussing this and a lot of folks in Mumbai and Pune are planning to do a large push on 24th April (Global Translation Day).   Thanks, Nao, I’m happy to add them both, I explained the process in the original request by @patilswapnilv above. Giving the GTEs proper time to respond (also emailed them personally). Our original process requires two weeks.
  
  We’ll make sure they are both GTEs in time for Global Translation Day.

You’re both General Translation EditorsTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor for Marathi, congratulations. In addition, I added you both as editors for http://mr.wordpress.org as well.

As a general rule, I highly recommend that you both get familiar with the Translator Handbook. We ask all our General Translation Editors to register on Slack and fill out their WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. It would be great if you could do that as well.
