You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Don’t see your language? You can request support for it.

Maybe a stupid question, should I just wait until a random editor approves my theme translations?

Did complete translation for several languages about 1,5 week ago, but nothing happens.
Did approve Dutch myself, and the only other language that’s approved is Canadian (is the same as default English).

Hello Guido,

if you´ve done translations and want to force the validation it could be helpfull, if you ask one of the translation team member to take a look.

Please stay patient, because there are a lot plugins and themes to validate and the validators mostly do this on a voluntary basis.

These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory https://wordpress.org/plugins/ or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party – don’t want to remove all po/mo filesMO files MO, or Machine Object is a binary data file that contains object data referenced by a program. It is typically used to translate program code, and may be loaded or imported into the GNU gettext program. This is the format used in a WordPress install. These files are normally located inside .../wp-content/languages/ from plugin without having relevant language packs available.

  Only a few stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. of each theme should be validated, the rest was already part of initial import (so validated already).
