You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Hi, thanks Alin!
I may not have the possibility to attend the today discussions but I want to raise a technical issue. Maybe others are also confronted with it and it may have a solution.

As GTEGeneral Translation Editor A General Translation Editor (often referred to as GTE) is a person, who has global access to validate strings on all projects for a specific locale. I had checked almost on a daily bases the Waiting tab in translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins. for Romanian language. I made my routine to validate the projects that appear here and to empty the page if possible. This worked for a couple of weeks. But now I’m totally discouraged to continue due to an issue involving the propagation of translations. I mention it also to @ocean90 and @dd32 here https://wordpress.slack.com/archives/meta-i18n/p1447844834000321.

If someone propose a translation, the stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. appear as a waiting string in as many projects that the propagation allow (I know a case with a string triggering tens if not hundreds of theme projects). But when I approve or correct that translation, the validation does not propagate as well for the others projects with the same translated string. Therefore, now, the Waiting tab has become totally irrelevant for my working flow because just for validating one string per project there are 7 operations: (1) click on the project’s translate button in the Waiting tab; (2) click on the Waiting/Fuzzy counter in the project’s page; (3) click on the string in the project’s string list; (4) validation/correction and submission for that string; (5) back to project’s page, (6) back to Waiting tab, (7) refresh the Waiting tab; …and start with the next project. This is unthinkable to do for the same string for tens or hundreds of times!

Now the Romanian Waiting tab has 51 pages of twenty projects each – that’s more than 1000 projects mostly with 1 ore 2 waiting stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.. And giving the fact that themes and plugins are still to be added, I’m wondering what would be the point of this Waiting tab anymore.
