# Hello I would like to contribute to Oriya…

Hello , I would like to contribute to Oriya Translation of WordPress. Seems like
the current team is quite slow or not interested in working. Oriya is one of the
language which has the last number of translated stringString A string is a translatable
part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings..
So I would like to expedite the translation process for a release as soon as possible.

via slackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform [https://slack.com/](https://slack.com/).
The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at [https://make.wordpress.org/chat/](https://make.wordpress.org/chat/)/
mail and FB but is not yielding any result. How can I go ahead and get the validator/
editor rights?

     back to us here, I’m sure he’ll be more than happy to have some help with the 
     localeLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code
     and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico.

 5.  Oriya is one of our recently added localesLocale Locale = language version, often
     a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes
     Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in
     [https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/),
     so don’t be surprised it doesn’t have much translated. Now you are on board, it
     will get more and more translations soon it seems 🙂
 6.  Following our [process for Inactive translations](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/about/inactive-translations/),
     let’s wait for a couple of days and if [@Subharanjan](https://profiles.wordpress.org/Subharanjan/)
     doesn’t get back to us to add you to the team, someone from the leadership team
     will add you as a Translation editorTranslation Editor Translation editors can
     approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM(
     Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" 
     role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different
     Translation Editor roles:

     and [Project Translation Editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2015/11/09/hello-i-would-like-to-contribute-to-oriya/?output_format=md#project-translation-editor)
     for Oriya. You can also pingPing The act of sending a very small amount of data
     to an end point. Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a
     target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users
     to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along
     the lines of “Ping me when the meeting starts.” him on [Slack](http://chat.wordpress.org),
     he is registered there.
 7.  While we wait for him to get back you can start translating, you don’t need special
