You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

The results of the intial build:

35 release packages for 4.3 were built: he_IL, el, is_IS, it_IT, de_DE_formal, de_DE, en_GB, en_NZ, eo, fi, fr_FR, lt_LT, nb_NO, sv_SE, es_MX, th, cy, tr_TR, es_ES, sk_SK, nn_NO, pt_PT, ro_RO, en_CA, ko_KR, ar, bs_BA, hy, bg_BG, eu, pt_BR, en_AU, nl_NL, sq, and da_DK
45 language packs for 4.3 were updated: hu_HU, he_IL, el, is_IS, id_ID, ja, it_IT, de_DE_formal, de_DE, en_GB, en_NZ, eo, fi, gl_ES, fr_FR, lt_LT, nb_NO, sv_SE, es_MX, th, cy, tr_TR, es_ES, sk_SK, nn_NO, pl_PL, pt_PT, sr_RS, ro_RO, en_CA, ko_KR, ca, ar, zh_TW, bs_BA, hy, bg_BG, eu, pt_BR, hr, en_AU, bn_BD, nl_NL, sq, and da_DK

Went smooth 😀 To get the stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. early on in the cycle again was great!

Now: how can we fix typos on the release video subtitles…? There’s still one “[JAZZ]” instead of “Billie” in the end of the video (Portuguese pt_PT version).

  @siobhan “th” got the same problem for [JAZZ]. the [Jazzer] “Billie Holiday” was translated into Thai correctly, but the [JAZZ] “Billie” was translated as “Blank” in Thai.

    On the right hand side there is a link that says “subtitle this video” where you can upload a new version. Great job everyone, thank you for your efforts.

There are 7 localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ at 100% (and Ukrainian at 99%) that didn’t release a package last night.

Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along the lines of “Ping me when the meeting starts.” @ocean90 here so we can get 4.3 released for you.

  We’re still in the final testing stage but on our way to releasing 4.3 soon. Just making sure everything is up-to-date and working with the new version of the Multibyte Patch pluginPlugin A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website.
