# Hi everyone I see that $fr CA exist…

Hi everyone,

I see that $fr_CA exist in locale.php but I’m unable to find a team working on translating
wordpress for “Français (Canada)”.

Is there someone creating a team for it or not?

 6. Just by curiosity: have you look at fr_FR and spotted something that would differ
in fr_CA? en_US and en_GB differ, at the very least, with spelling like “color”
vs “colour”. I haven’t spotted one in fr_FR, but I’d love to hear about the ones
     you found.

 10. My concern is more about geolocation. Like when using language_attributes(). I’d
rather install my wordpress with fr_CA and use en_CA with my language switcher

      * Hey [@choumich](https://profiles.wordpress.org/choumich/),
      * As there’s no current team for fr_CA, if you’d like to become a validatorValidator
        See [translation editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#translation-editor).,
let us know. We can import the fr_FR stringsString A string is a translatable
part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.
and you can only adjust some phrases/punctuation or whatever you feel is appropriate.
      * If you decide to become a validator (translation editorTranslation Editor Translation

Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation
Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are
        two different Translation Editor roles:
         [General Translation Editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2015/04/05/hi-everyone-i-see-that-fr-ca-exist/?output_format=md#general-translation-editor)

you will be given access to a local site for fr_CA too that will need maintenance
        too.
      * Let me know if you’re keen on taking the role and we’ll set things in motion
        and make it happen.
      * Cheers!

 16. Bonjour choumich!
 17. Je vois que tu es l’éditeur de fr-ca. J’ai justement décidé de m’impliquer récemment
et je suis déjà au travail. Par quel canal pourrions nous communiquer directement
afin de produire une première version fr-ca?
 18. À bientôt,
 19. François

 22. Bonjour [@fgienr](https://profiles.wordpress.org/fgienr/)
version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance
es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported
     by WordPress in [https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/)
 27. [@petya](https://profiles.wordpress.org/petya/), is it possible for me to add
[@fgienr](https://profiles.wordpress.org/fgienr/) as editor for the fr_CA translation?
