# The 4.0.1 release recap – thank you all

I wanted to write a short note to say thank you to all of you for your patience
and cooperation in the last two days.

##### **You rock.**

The 4.0.1 release was a bit messy for polyglots because of the unexpected GlotPressGlotPress
GlotPress is the translation management software that powers [Translate.WordPress.org](http://translate.wordpress.org).
More information is available at [glotpress.org](http://glotpress.org/). issues,
but we can be proud of the way everyone stepped up to try and figure out what the
problem was and how to fix it.

If you don’t know what happened, [@nbachiyski](https://profiles.wordpress.org/nbachiyski/)
explained it in more technical detail [here](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2014/11/21/if-your-local-build-is-missing-strings-for/).

Bottom line is: **the project is complex and deep and these things happen**. The
important thing is to be able to handle situations like this with grace.

Once again, if your local version is missing stringsString A string is a translatable
part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.,

##### **please re-build and re-release.**

This will make sure the users who update from now on will get the proper translation
files.

We’re working with the coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress.
The Core Development Team builds WordPress. team on retroactively pushing language
packs to those who already updated their installs.

We have 20 localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language
code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico.
A list of all locales supported by WordPress in [https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/)
already up to date despite it all. We’re doing a great job.

Keep rocking 🙂

Cheers!

      * There was an issue on Thursday and those stringsString A string is a translatable
part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.
we weren’t sure if they where the correct ones. You can just check the fuzzy
strings and approve them when correct. The fuzzy should be the same as untranslated.

when Petya said that we could translate.
         - I search for untranslated, fuzzy, waiting or Warnings strings and glotpressGlotPress
GlotPress is the translation management software that powers [Translate.WordPress.org](http://translate.wordpress.org).
More information is available at [glotpress.org](http://glotpress.org/).
tells me that there is no one stringString A string is a translatable part
of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.
           with these conditions.
         - I’ve downloaded the po file and edited the file with poedit and this program
tells me that strings are 100% translated.
         - So I think It’s a problem of glotpress cache because the twelve strings
           remain fuzzy or untranslated.

 14. Hello Petya,
I think you are a polyglots teamPolyglots Team Polyglots Team is

     and front-facing marketing copy. [https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/)
lead, so i just wanted a little bit of help,
 15. i have already written a status update and blog on this topic, but till it gets
published here, a brief note – i want to contribute to “Gujarati” section of “
wordpress” project, however the language looks inactive(lots of unapproved comments,
none approved). Also i’m unable to find any existing validatorValidator See [translation editor](https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/glossary/#translation-editor).
     at – [http://wpcentral.io/internationalization/](http://wpcentral.io/internationalization/)
 16. Further, the above link hasn’t even listed “Gujarati” as a language! (Although
it can be found at – [https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev/](https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev/))
 17. So, i request you to assign me as a validator so i can start translating and approving
     translations
