You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Hey I’m from Sri Lanka and my language (Sinhala – si) needs some important translations to be done if WordPress to get some publicity around here.
I’ve contributed to WordPress.comWordPress.com An online implementation of WordPress code that lets you immediately access a new WordPress environment to publish your content. WordPress.com is a private company owned by Automattic that hosts the largest multisite in the world. This is arguably the best place to start blogging if you have never touched WordPress before. https://wordpress.com/ as a translator for some time and the staff made me a ‘validatorValidator See translation editor.’ so my translations wait no more in the queue. I’d be humbly proud if the .org crew can offer me that so my translating would be effective and affective. Thank you.

It’s great you’d like to pick up Sinhala, it really does look as if it’s been abandoned a little.

The validators for Sinhala are @bckurera, @mohanjith, @anandawardhana and @malinthe.

Could you try contacting them and discussing with them the possibility to make you a validatorValidator See translation editor.? You can use the local site – https://si.wordpress.org/ or try and contact them personally through their WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ profiles.

If you don’t hear back from them, please let us know so we can try and get in touch with them. If they don’t write back, we would be happy to give you validator rights.

Hello, I’ve started to contribute to WordPress Sinhala, It’s better if I had the translation editorTranslation Editor Translation editors can approve translations for projects. The GTE (General Translation Editor) and LM (Locale Manager) roles can add new users with the "Project Translation Editor" role that can approve translations for specific projects. There are two different Translation Editor roles:
General Translation Editor and Project Translation Editor level, with help of WordPress Colombo MeetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. we are planning to get more contributers and help community to release WordPress in Sinhala as well.
