You have about 14 hours to complete your translations for WordPress 4.0.

I’ve added one last stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings., “Release LeadRelease Lead The community member ultimately responsible for the Release.,” for use on the credits page. If you were at 100% for 4.0, don’t worry, you have a language pack built already, but it’d be nice if you could translate this.

Please ensure you are 100% for wp/dev, wp/dev/admin, and wp/dev/admin/network. Currently 19 languages have done this (minus the new string).

pl_PL, he_IL, my_MM, and eu (Basque) are all at 100% for wp/dev but are not at 100% for the administration projects. Another 30 languages are at 90% or higher for wp/dev — so close!

WPLANG should be removed from wp-config-sample.php. If you have a custom wp-config-sample.php file in your SVNSVN Apache Subversion (often abbreviated SVN, after its command name svn) is a software versioning and revision control system. Software developers use Subversion to maintain current and historical versions of files such as source code, web pages, and documentation. Its goal is to be a mostly compatible successor to the widely used Concurrent Versions System (CVS). WordPress core and the wordpress.org released code are all centrally managed through SVN. https://subversion.apache.org/. trunk/dist directory, please update it. See how German did it here.

If you are translating via SVN please make sure you are importing each of your PO filesPO files PO files are human readable files which contain translations we use. These files are not used by WordPress itself. Each language will have its own PO file, for example, for French there would be a fr_FR.po file, for german there would be a de_DE.po, for British English there might be en_GB.po. into translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins., for language packs.

  My local summary (it_IT shw some project with 1 stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. untralsated but all the file is fully translated (ex Akismet) the wrong counter is something common for glotpressGlotPress GlotPress is the translation management software that powers Translate.WordPress.org. More information is available at glotpress.org. and even the work done in these months it’s still a bug.

- Which part is automatic exactly? Build and release, or build only?
- Do localesLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ have custom files like us (ja) need to build a localized package manually? Or if it’s done automatically then which dist directory will be used for inclusion (trunk/dist, branches/4.0/dist, or tags/4.0/dist)?

All locale specific WordPress sites are referred to as “Rosetta sites.” The name was inspired from the ancient Rosetta Stone, which contained more or less the same text in three different languages. builds as usual?

If not the files will be taken from trunk or we can make a branch and a tag for 4.0 and it will be taken there if present (in tag first if not in branch if not in trunk?)

Is it possible to create our language packs manually somehow even if we will not be at 100 % for MultisiteMultisite Multisite is a WordPress feature which allows users to create a network of sites on a single WordPress installation. Available since WordPress version 3.0, Multisite is a continuation of WPMU or WordPress Multiuser project. Attention: Do not change your wp-config-sample.php in previously tagged versions, like /tags/3.9.2/dist or /tags/3.9.0/dist. You should change it in /trunk/dist or if already a new tag for 4.0.0 exists, you should change it there too (/tags/4.0/dist).

What should I do to wp-config-sample.php before any of the above? The danish wp-config-sample.php is not translated I might add. I stopped doing that a few years back because of too many errors from ekstra whitespaces and such. So it’s only the line:

define(‘WPLANG’, ‘da_DK’);

That is “translated”.

  since you doesn’t translate the file it’s safe to remove it from your subversionSVN Apache Subversion (often abbreviated SVN, after its command name svn) is a software versioning and revision control system. Software developers use Subversion to maintain current and historical versions of files such as source code, web pages, and documentation. Its goal is to be a mostly compatible successor to the widely used Concurrent Versions System (CVS). WordPress core and the wordpress.org released code are all centrally managed through SVN. https://subversion.apache.org/.. The build script will use the one from coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. as a fallback, which is in English.

  Now that we removed the define(‘WPLANG’, ‘xxxx’); from wp-config-sample.php, the local version is the same as the general version.
