Translate WordPress

You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

Don’t see your language? You can request support for it.

Hey y’all, wanted to let you know I’ve made two plugins ready for localizationLocalization Localization (sometimes shortened to "l10n") is the process of adapting a product or service to a particular language, culture, and desired local "look-and-feel." (please do tell me if you don’t want these announcements and I’ll refrain from making any more in the future). The two WordPress plugins are:

both have a languages directory containing a .pot filePOT file POT files are the template files for PO files. They will have all the translation strings left empty. A POT file is essentially an empty PO file without the translations, with just the original strings., please email me if / when you’ve made a translation 🙂

I should add that they’re both very small plugins so it’s probably like max 10 minutes work to translate them 🙂

@Joost, given that you are the developer of quite a number of plugins, it would be great if you’d setup your own GlotPress. It would:
- Make the translation work easier
- Set an example for other developers, given your visibility
- We’d have an extra pair of eyes looking at the GP code… 🙂

      Much, much more time, energy, resources (which all also mean money) are spent now on decentralised, dysfunctional system, than what would be spent on creation of a useful system which would help developers, translators, and users.
