You can help translate WordPress to your language by logging in to the translation platform with your WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ account and suggesting translations (more details).

Want to help in managing and validating translations? Get in touch with the existing language team and follow the glossaries & style guides if the team has them.

I am using the current development version at a test site, and wonder how does one gets to use the current stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. from translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins.?

Made a build (3.1-RC4-17434) to try to use the .mo filesMO files MO, or Machine Object is a binary data file that contains object data referenced by a program. It is typically used to translate program code, and may be loaded or imported into the GNU gettext program. This is the format used in a WordPress install. These files are normally located inside .../wp-content/languages/ under wp-content/languages, but with not luck. Even with those, the test site still shows some untranslated strings.

Is this something feasible?

If you were a validatorValidator See translation editor. you could export the stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. to a .po. I say “if you were” and am not making you one right now, because pt-br has 10(!) validators and I’d like to hear from Cátia if it’s ok to add you.

That is a lot of validators, and I do not fancy becoming one, thank you.

But unfortunately it is not what I am looking for. See, my issue is that even using the current strings, still there are some untranslated ones.

Maybe they are not added to the translate.wordpress.org site yet.

Obrigado pelo auxílio, I’ll check the coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. code to find out what is going on.

A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings., albeit there are 9 not translated (according to poEdit).
  
  Oddly at translate.wordpress.org there aren’t any untranslated strings.

    To show a stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. as translated, Poedit requires all of the plural forms to be filled in.

        Anyway, is nice to know that Poedit does a better job of counting untranslated stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings..
        
        It is something to check before making a release.
