Contributor Updates:
- @janjakes shared about his work on an exhaustive MySQL parser in PHP, crucial for improving MySQLMySQL MySQL is a relational database management system. A database is a structured collection of data where content, configuration and other options are stored. https://www.mysql.com/./SQLite database compatibility within Playground. His work is based on a prototype by @zieladam. Improving MySQL compatibility for the SQLite database integration will unlock support for more WordPress plugins within Playground.
Discussions:
- A number of folks expressed their eagerness to contribute to WordPress coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. and to GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/. We welcomed them and told them about New Contributor meetings and the Gutenberg PR previewer on playground.wordpress.net.
