Openverse Monthly Priorities Meeting 2024-11-06

With the team size reduced, we might be moving a bit slower but not stopping.

In Progress Projects

Dark Mode

Most of the work is done, so after completing #5119, there will be an announcement and spreading the word.

Removal of the Ingestion Server

The audio data refresh was run in staging and confirmed to work. The process for images needs adjustment in the alter data, so work will continue on that side until we get a complete run.

On Hold

These projects are kept on hold until having the capacity to be resumed or someone volunteers.

Upcoming Work

The project for Proxy frontend APIAPI An API or Application Programming Interface is a software intermediary that allows programs to interact with each other and share data in limited, clearly defined ways. requests through Nuxt is planned to start after Dark mode is finished.

Incorporate Rekognition data into the catalog will be resumed after the Removal of the Ingestion Server.

The implementation for undoing split indices for sensitive text detection is on sight after the previous two.
