Community Meeting Recap (2023-06-06)

[Meeting Start]

📝 Agenda

  • Periodic data dumps
    • This has arisen as a repeated request from the community. Unfortunately, the conditions for providing proper support have not changed, and we would have to incur extra transfer costs.
    • We agreed to create a project on GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/ for handling the one-off request, assess the current Catalog database size, and evaluate if this could benefit of the AWS Open Data program.
  • The issue creation for the blur sensitive content frontend work is assigned to @dhruvkb
  • The high-priority infrastructure issue “CloudWatch configuration does not respect multi-line logs” was added to the To Do column (pending assignation)
  • We agreed to archive/remove all the old boards in favor of just using the main Openverse Backlog board.

Finally, a reminder that the monthly priorities will be held tomorrow. See the announcement post.
