# Openverse Remote Contributor Day at WordCamp US 2022

OpenverseOpenverse **Openverse **is a search engine for openly-licensed media, including
images and audio. Find Openverse on [GitHub](https://github.com/WordPress?q=openverse)
and at [https://openverse.org](https://openverse.org). will be remotely participating
in the WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering
everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community
comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and

dayContributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before 
or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. They are events where people
get together to work on various areas of [https://make.wordpress.org/](https://make.wordpress.org/)
There are many teams that people can participate in, each with a different focus.

Join a group of Openverse contributors in the [#openverse](https://wordpress.slack.com/archives/C02012JB00N)
channel where there will be a variety of issues to work on, covering everything 
from design to translations to code, written in Python and JavaScriptJavaScript 
JavaScript or JS is an object-oriented computer programming language commonly used
to create interactive effects within web browsers. WordPress makes extensive use
of JS for a better user experience. While PHP is executed on the server, JS executes

It doesn’t matter if it is your first time contributing to Openverse, or _any_ open-
source project; all are welcome!
