Community Meeting Recap (09 August 2022)

Meeting start…

🎉 Done!

• We had some typography cleanup PRs submitted by community contributors.
• Progress is being made on the v1.3.0 catalog milestone, which is nearly complete.
• We tackled some API performance mitigation tickets related to deep pagination & dead links.
• We had another community contributor PR for fixing the width of the license explanation popover on the frontend.
• We are gearing up for deploying the frontend with ECS rather than EC2.

👀 Needs review

• A few reviews were needed on PRs relating to updating our version of Vue.
• A number of PRs were open for the catalog, which relate to most of the rest of the work needed for the catalog v1.3.0 milestone.
• A dead link mitigation PR on the API was made ready for review.
• We deferred the deployment of thumbnail throttling until next week.

🚧 In progress

An issue is in the todo column and unassigned.

• Upgrading Airflow to >2.3.0 and fixing some references to Python 3.9 were added to the TODOs.
• Frontend audio issues were prioritized for the week.
• The cutting off of the menu was assigned.
• Issues related to pagination & dead link filtering were discussed & prioritized.

💬 Agenda discussion

One of our agenda items was already tackled in the previous week, so no discussion on it was necessary. We discussed what else is needed before we can close out & deploy the catalog v1.3.0 milestone.

@krysal also brought to folks’ attention that we still need to run a data refresh in order to confirm some issues we completed in the catalog are addressed downstream.
