Call for Testing: WordPress for Android 15.0

WordPress for Android version 15.0-rc-1 is available for testing on the BetaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. channel. What to Test

To prepare:

  • Go to Account > App Settings > Privacy settings and turn on the “Collect information” and “Crash reports” options.
  • Go to My Site > Settings > Use Block Editor to enable the block editor for new posts.
  • Switch to Dark Theme when testing Android 9.0+ devices for this release. On the device, go to Settings > Display > Advanced > Device theme and choose “Dark”.
  • If you are comfortable testing in a language other than English, please test in that language.

To test:

  1. 21883 Create a new post, add a verse block, try to break it, complete 4 test cases. Publish the post and verify the content looks correct in Preview, View Site, Reader, and Reblogs.
  2. 2220 Open any post or page for editing, add a buttons block and add a few buttons into it, try all the options and verify the move options work, settings open, that you can remove buttons individually or the entire buttons block using the remove option in the ellipsis menu.
  3. 22207 Open any post or page for editing, add a cover block, change the overlay color by picking a preselected color from the palette, add another cover block with a custom overlay color, add another cover block with a pre-selected gradient overlay color, publish the post and verify the content appears correctly in Preview, View Site, Reader, and Reblogs.
  4. 22146 Open any post or page for editing that contains nested blocks, verify that each time you select from root list block to nested block FloatingToolbar is pop ups with ease in animation on bottom, verify that each time you select from nested block to root list block FloatingToolbar is disappears with ease out animation.
  5. 2220 Open any post or page for editing, add a buttons block, focus on the button that appears, verify you can see stacked options just below each individual button and that if the button expands enough you can see icons for move left, move right, and settings but otherwise those appear in the bottomsheet when the three dots are tapped.

  8. 2271 Create a new post or page, add a paragraph block, add some text, make some or all of the text bold or italic, add more text, move the cursor just after the style, press enter to split the paragraph, move the cursor to the middle of the styled text, start to tap the delete key, verify the styled characters are deleted and when getting to the start of the paragraph it’s merged with the previous one.
  9. 2314 Create a new page, apply each of the templates, and verify that the buttons are center aligned and that the following strings are consistent “Let’s build something together!” should have an exclamation mark at the end, and “Get in Touch” should have title case for each instance.
  10. 2266 On the web, create a new post or page, add several button and cover blocks, set a radial gradient background color for each one, save draft. In the app, open the post in the block editor, verify the radial gradients appear properly in the editor.
