Call for Testing: WordPress for iOS 15.7

WordPress for iOSiOS The operating system used on iPhones and iPads. version 15.7 betaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. is available for testing on TestFlight. You can sign up for our TestFlight program and join as a beta tester by opening that link on your iPhone or iPad.

What to Test

To prepare:

  • Go to Account > App Settings > Privacy Settings and turn on the Collect information option.
  • Go to Account > Help & Support and turn on the Extra Debug option.
  • Go to My Site > Settings > Use Block Editor to enable the block editor for new posts.
  • If you are comfortable testing in a language other than English, please test in that language.

To test:

Note: some types of login require that you have a free WordPress.com account.
  1. 14742 Follow the login flow, try every option you can think of to break the flow and make note if anything in the flow is unclear. The login buttons are now Continue with WordPress.com and Enter your site address, each leading to the new flow. Select Continue with WordPress.com and verify the Get Started view is displayed. Select Enter your site address and verify the Site Address view is displayed.
  2. #14845, #14831, #14825, #14817, Test social login for connected and unconnected accounts, a password manager (like 1Password), social login, magic link. Enter an email that is not connected to a WP account and ensure you are prompted to create an account.
  3. #14770 Login using iCloud keychain credentials for an account that does not have 2FA enabled.
  4. #14842 Tap Reader, then Discover. You should see posts related to the tags you follow. Remove all tags you follow and Tap Reader, Select Discover, Select Interests. You should see posts related to the topics you selected (along with suggested topics).
  5. #14759 Ensure stats are updating as expected, especially when switching between sites.
  6. #2286 Create a new post, add blocks with sliders in the settings (spacer, button, etc), verify that changes to slider settings for blocks are immediately reflected and saved when you leave and return to the settings.
  7. #14806 Open the comments on any P2 post in Reader and tap “Follow conversation” or “Following conversation”. Use multiple accounts to verify that following and unfollowing work as expected.

  • Please be aware that a bot will ask for labels but you may not have rights to add them. Know that labels will be added by someone on the triage team.
  • Please do not include full Activity Logs which include tokens. Activity Logs can be very helpful for debugging but you should only include them if you have removed tokens as those should not be shared publicly. You can find the logs at Account > Help & Support > Application log.
