Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. is available for testing on TestFlight. What to Test

To prepare:

  • Go to Account > App Settings > Privacy Settings and turn on the Collect information option.
  • Go to Account > Help & Support and turn on the Extra Debug option.
  • Go to My Site > Settings > Use Block Editor to enable the block editor for new posts.
  • If you are comfortable testing in a language other than English, please test in that language.

To test:

  1. 21883 Create a new post, add a verse block, try to break it, complete 4 test cases. Publish the post and verify the content looks correct in Preview, View Site, Reader, and Reblogs.
  2. 2220 Open any post or page for editing, add a buttons block and add a few buttons into it, try all the options and verify the move options work, settings open, that you can remove buttons individually or the entire buttons block using the remove option in the ellipsis menu.
  3. 2220 Open any post or page for editing, add a buttons block, focus on the button that appears, verify you can see stacked options just below each individual button and that if the button expands enough you can see icons for move left, move right, and settings but otherwise those appear in the bottomsheet when the three dots are tapped.
  4. 14140 Open any post or page for editing, add any media block (Image, Video, Media & Text or Cover), turn on Airplane mode, tap on the block and upload a file, expect the block to display a retry message, turn off Airplane mode, tap on the block to retry the upload, verify the media is uploaded successfully without further errors even after closing and re-opening the app. Publish the post and verify the media displays correctly on the web.
  5. 22207 Open any post or page for editing, add a cover block, change the overlay color by picking a preselected color from the palette, add another cover block with a custom overlay color, add another cover block with a pre-selected gradient overlay color, publish the post and verify the content appears correctly in Preview, View Site, Reader, and Reblogs.
  6. 22146 Open any post or page for editing that contains nested blocks, verify that each time you select from root list block to nested block FloatingToolbar is pop ups with ease in animation on bottom, verify that each time you select from nested block to root list block FloatingToolbar is disappears with ease out animation.
  7. 22492 Open any post or page for editing, add a few test blocks, add or remove text to each block and verify undo/redo works as expected. See the PR for known issues.
  8. 21974 Create a new page, verify a tooltip appears for the page template picker that says “Try a starter layout”, verify the tooltip stays in place while scrolling through page template options, verify the tooltip fades out if you tap the title of the page, verify the tooltip goes away if you close and re-open the app.
  9. 2271 Create a new post or page, add a paragraph block, add some text, make some or all of the text bold or italic, add more text, move the cursor just after the style, press enter to split the paragraph, move the cursor to the middle of the styled text, start to tap the delete key, verify the styled characters are deleted and when getting to the start of the paragraph it’s merged with the previous one.
  10. 2314 Create a new page, apply each of the templates, and verify that the buttons are center aligned and that the following strings are consistent “Let’s build something together!” should have an exclamation mark at the end, and “Get in Touch” should have title case for each instance.
  11. 2266 On the web, create a new post or page, add several button and cover blocks, set a radial gradient background color for each one, save draft. In the app, open the post in the block editor, verify the radial gradients appear properly in the editor.
  12. 14160 Go to My Site > Profile (top right), take a new photo, tap “Use” verify you can crop and save the new photo and that it appears normally in the app even after you close and re-open it.
  13. 14185 Go to the Reader, tap on any section, verify the card content and design matches the the screenshots in 14185, verify that each Reader card action works as expected (save, reblog, comment, like).

  • If you would like to send Activity Logs to help with debugging (this can be very useful!), you should first trigger the bug and then go to Profile > Help & Support > Activity Logs > Current and use the share icon at top right to copy the logs. Next, go to Help & Support > Contact Us, add a short note mentioning the bug report link, and paste the logs below the note. Please be aware Activity Logs may contain tokens which should not be shared publicly, and that’s why logs should be sent through the Contact Us form.
