What to Test

  1. Notices. (11632)
    1. Go to Blog Posts, tap Search to trigger keyboard, go offline, pull to refresh. You should see an offline notice appear.
  2. Autosave before Preview on published posts. (11638)
    1. This is arguably the best place to start blogging if you have never touched WordPress before. blog, make a change to a previously published post and ensure you can see the change in a preview.

    1. Find some posts with lots of comments and like them. (1, 2)
      In the app, go to Reader > My Likes.
      Tap to view comments for one of the liked posts.
      Quickly scroll the list.
      Repeat until you crash the app.
  4. GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. Mobile (1.5)
    1. Go to Me > App Settings > Use BlockBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. Editor to enable Gutenberg Mobile for testing on new posts. Posts created using Gutenberg on the web should open in Gutenberg on the app regardless of what is selected in App Settings.
    2. Create and publish post using all of the available blocks (Paragraph, Heading, Image, Lists, Separator, Page Break) and check that each one works as expected.

Did you find a bug or come up with a feature request while testing? You can discuss it here, pingPing The act of sending a very small amount of data to an end point. Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along the lines of “Ping me when the meeting starts.” one of us in the #mobile room on Slack, report it using the TestFlight feedback link, or head straight to the iOS GitHub repository and open a new issue or the Gutenberg Mobile repository to open a new issue for the block editor.
