new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com
will help you find options in your area. or WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual,
locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're
one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another
what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. [Learn more](https://central.wordcamp.org/about/).

held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. They are events

We’ve talked a bit before about making this easier by creating a Vagrant configuration,
so I put together [a prototype](https://github.com/iandunn/wordpress-meta-environment)
based on Varying Vagrant Vagrants, with WordCamp.org as the first site. The sample
data needs a little love, but other than that I think it works pretty well.

I’ll test it out with some people this weekend at WordCamp Seattle. If anyone on
the team wants to add other sites or make any changes, just let me know and I’ll
add you to the repo.

Heads up, meta team! We’re getting ready to publish details about the plans for
WordCamp San Francisco this October (which includes a mini team meetup), so if you’re
thinking of attending, please read the post at https://make.wordpress.org/updates/
2014/06/12/wordcamp-san-francisco-travel-contributor-days/ and take the short survey
linked at the end of it so I’ll know how many team members to plan for (don’t worry,
this isn’t a commitment or anything, I just need to get some rough numbers for budgeting
purposes). Thanks!

[@Otto42](https://profiles.wordpress.org/otto42/), and [@samuelsidler](https://profiles.wordpress.org/samuelsidler/)
attended.

 * Last week we finished triaging the General component.
 * This week we quickly went through the [Codex component](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/query?status=!closed&component=Codex&order=id).
 * Then we did a quick run through of the [Theme Directory component](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/query?status=!closed&component=Themes+Directory&order=id)
to ensure [@Otto42](https://profiles.wordpress.org/otto42/) has a list of things
to work on in his rewrite.
 * Finally, we looked at the [make.wordpress.org / P2 component](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/query?status=!closed&component=make.wordpress.org+/+P2&order=id).

We’d love some feedback on [#30](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/30). That
is, anyone interested in creating better theme preview data, it’d be great to have
it submitted to the ticket. There’s a current proposal that could use some feedback
as well.

[@jenmylo](https://profiles.wordpress.org/jenmylo/): For #[482](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/482),
will the training team be using [their P2](https://make.wordpress.org/training/)
or using the [community P2](https://make.wordpress.org/community/)? They’ve been
using the community one recently. If they’ll continue to use the community P2P2
P2 or O2 is the term people use to refer to the Make WordPress blog. It can be found
at [https://make.wordpress.org](https://make.wordpress.org/), we can wontfix that
ticket.

Next week (Friday at 17:00 UTC), we’ll be looking at the [Plugins Directory component](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/query?status=!closed&component=Plugins+Directory&order=id)(
I won’t be present).

# 󠀁[Trac updates](https://make.wordpress.org/meta/2014/01/15/trac-updates/)󠁿

Over the last month, I’ve been making [a lot of improvements](https://make.wordpress.org/core/2014/01/06/lots-of-improvements-to-core-trac/)
to TracTrac Trac is the place where contributors create issues for bugs or feature

which have been announced and documented on make/coreCore Core is the set of software
required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress..

At this point, I’ve brought _most_ of these improvements to _most_ Tracs on WordPress.

server., and the refreshed design. bbPressbbPress Free, open source software built
on top of WordPress for easily creating forums on sites. [https://bbpress.org](https://bbpress.org)
and BuddyPress received their own skins. These Tracs also all gained image attachment
previews, email address syncing, IRC cross-references (for [#wordpress-meta](https://make.wordpress.org/meta/tag/wordpress-meta/),
[#buddypress-dev](https://make.wordpress.org/meta/tag/buddypress-dev/), [#bbpress-dev](https://make.wordpress.org/meta/tag/bbpress-dev/),
[#glotpress](https://make.wordpress.org/meta/tag/glotpress/), [#wordpress-gsoc](https://make.wordpress.org/meta/tag/wordpress-gsoc/)),
and various bug fixes and tweaks. A few other improvements (like comments columns)
require Trac report SQL updates, versus template or configuration changes. I’m happy
to help the developers on other Tracs to help make their reporting better, [something we’re also doing for core](https://make.wordpress.org/core/2014/01/10/brainstorming-ticket-reports/).

The metaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us,
this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and
Make WordPress. repository now includes configuration files shared by various Tracs,
to shine as much light as possible on everything. These files join [MySQL schemas, patches to Trac, a number of template files](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/browser/sites/trunk/trac.wordpress.org),
[a lot of JS and CSS](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/browser/sites/trunk/wordpress.org/public_html/style/trac/),
and even [a WordPress plugin](https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/browser/sites/trunk/wordpress.org/public_html/wp-content/plugins/trac-notifications/).

[Notifications are coming](https://make.wordpress.org/core/2014/01/09/new-trac-notifications-feature/)
very soon to BuddyPress, bbPress, GlotPress, and meta. Probably in the next few
days. Once a Trac is running the new notifications feature, that means it has been
migrated to MySQLMySQL MySQL is a relational database management system. A database
is a structured collection of data where content, configuration and other options
are stored. [https://www.mysql.com](https://www.mysql.com/), which means the data
is more accessible to the rest of WP.org, as well.

I’m sure I’ll continue to make tweaks to Core Trac in the coming months, but as
everything is now shared and well-organized, it won’t even need to “trickle down”—
they’ll be deployedDeploy Launching code from a local development environment to

The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted)

to create tables for displaying tabular data/content in their accessibility reports(

about is if it creates accessible tables.

1. Getting tables on there at all: better with a plugin that’s already out there,
or better to write a one-off that just adds that one thing?

2. Once the options are identified something in place, [@accessiblejoe](https://profiles.wordpress.org/accessiblejoe/)

When you [download the file](https://cloudup.com/chcDb3Beh9Z) and open it up, the
changelog contained in the readme.txt file matches the [2.6.1b1 tag](https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/jetpack/tags/2.6.1b1/readme.txt#L84),
not the [2.6 tag](https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/jetpack/tags/2.6/readme.txt#L84),
or [trunk](https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/jetpack/trunk/readme.txt?rev=811560#L84)(
which it had glitched to previously a few months back).

Trunk’s current readme [does point to 2.6 as the stable tag](https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/jetpack/trunk/readme.txt?rev=811560#L6).
