It’s been a moment since we’ve run a campaign like #ILoveWP and #IContribute, so as the days lengthen on the top half of the planet it seemed like a good time for growth and regeneration. With that in mind, I’ve been thinking about fresh ways on how the Marketing team can connect and engage with the WordPress community in hopes of embarking on a multi-faceted marketing effort with all of you to inspire, enrich, and interact with our audiences.
In the 2021 State of the Word, Matt asked us “how has WordPress helped grow your story?” So as the CMS of choice driving 43% of the web, we know WordPress enables thousands to pursue their passions, from creating a hobby blog and building up small businesses, to powering e-commerce stores and large enterprise sites. With WordPress touching so many lives it seemed natural to ask again.
Welcome to the Grow Your Story initiative!
To build on that, I’d like to go on an inspirational journey with you driven by our purpose: to democratize publishing for all. This will hopefully complement the excellent, in-depth work of HeroPress by providing additional opportunities for those willing to share their stories in perhaps just a few hundred characters.
We would love to explore with you the endless possibilities of ways people have published thanks to the platform and also invite new users to contribute or adopt WordPress because everyone has a story to tell — whether through building a site or contributing to the open sourceOpen SourceOpen Source denotes software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified. Open Source **must be** delivered via a licensing model, see GPL. project itself — and every story is unique, remarkable, and meaningful.
Let’s spread the word with folks from across the community to ask them to share their experiences with WordPress. Please share this post across social media and help in these efforts. Together, hopefully, the small pieces of our shared experiences will help us to bring more people in to learn the full WordPress story.
So we want to hear from you! How has WordPress impacted your life? How has WordPress helped you grow your business, store, or blog? Please share with us the difference that WordPress has made in your life.
We welcome all stories and want to amplify your incredible journey, and help you continue to “grow your story.” #GrowYourStoryWP
