Invitations to stand and elections will be held in November each year for team rep roles across the project, to start a one year term from January 1. If you are interested in standing in a future year, do reach out to one of the current representatives.
Since 2022, Make teams have moved to an annual system, where all contributors can be nominated for a new year, including those who had stood or been nominated before, irrespective of whether they had opted not to stand in previous years. The Marketing Team moved to an annual model during 2020 and 2021, and as part of this transition had a hybrid system in place where new reps were appointed, based on suggestions invited from the team as a whole, and a consideration of their contribution efforts within the WordPress.org Marketing Team. Recommendations could be made throughout the year and these were shared in the team. When a vacancy arose, if willing to stand, those contributors were subsequently appointed.
Team reps are elected for the Marketing Team annually. In the new cycle, the team reps begin their term in the first or second meeting of 2024.
