The Make Marketing team is currently inactive. Work on the WordPress Showcase remains open to contributions, and marketing amplification requests can be made via GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged by the repository owner. https://github.com/. For those with marketing talents, we currently recommend connecting with the Community team to promote WordPress events or with one of the many other Make teams. For any other ideas or discussions unrelated to these contributing areas, you can use the GitHub discussion area or Make Slack.

- This was a good week for WordPress but also a slower week. On Wednesday, we paused a few campaigns because of the current world events, hoping to create some space with the current news and our campaigns. Despite this, we actually did have a good week performance-wise with the campaigns that ran Sunday-Tuesday. Both engagements and clicks to the website were improved with a few key campaigns highlighting the WordPress 6.4 BetaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. 3 release as well as the WordPress 6.3.2 release.
- Here is a look at the numbers for the week:
- Impressions: 200,768
- Engagements: 3,942
- Link clicks: 1,501
- Engagement Rate: 1.8%
New Issues
- Unify communication and terminology around the blockBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. editor vs GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/ across WordPress.org and associated venues (such as WordCamps, social media ++) #311
