A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another.         • Our audience across all networks grew by 967 followers last week. That brings our total audience to 2,031,310 followers. This was one of our best growth weeks in the last couple months. As usual, our most engaging posts utilized video and imagery. (example 1, example 2)

      • The Week Ahead
        • Please share news of the new News design. This will be launching this month, and we want everyone to be aware and excited for the changes. If you are new, or looking for an easy way to participate, this is a great opportunity to use your voice.

    • Last week we promoted Social Learning Spaces (SLS) [this used to be known as the WordPress Meetup for materials on Learn WordPress]  for Full Site Editing (FSE) Outcome: full event and 85 person waiting list!

  • 4d GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/ MigrationMigration Moving the code, database and media files for a website site from one server to another. Most typically done when changing hosting companies. Update

      • The Series board will be manually migrated to avoid bugs. If you are missing a card you are working on, please pingPing The act of sending a very small amount of data to an end point. Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along the lines of “Ping me when the meeting starts.” @webcommsat or @meher or reply to the thread in Slack
      • Call for volunteers: volunteers needed to help test fixes. Effort consists of adding comments and labels in GitHub. If you can volunteer, please ping @webcommsat or @meher or reply to the thread in Slack
