The Marketing team promotes WordPress to current and future users and contributors. We create and amplify campaigns to support the growth of the WordPress project.

Global marketing meeting Wednesdays 30 June and 7 July 2021, at 14:00 UTC, drop-in sessions (more details at 30 June meeting), and asynchronously during this period.
We will be researching and writing social media draft copy for the WordPress 5.8 release. As in previous releases recently and promotions, we will draft posts which will be edited into a social media amplification pack, covering in the main Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn channels. This will be able to be used and adapted by others in their own networks, by meetups and users wanting to share the benefits, latest features and showcase the community of contributors.
The information source will be the final version of the About Page text, which should be committed later today for Release CandidateRelease Candidate A beta version of software with the potential to be a final product, which is ready to release unless significant bugs emerge. 1.
