How you can get involved
Update after the meeting: We welcome asynchronous contribution to the meeting for 48 hours after the meeting, that is, 14:00 UTC on Friday 5 February 2021. You can read through the meeting that took place on the 3 February and reply directly in the the #Marketing Slack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/. channel on Make WordPress or in the collaboration documents listed.
Our virtual meeting on Thursday at 20:00 UTC will be on the topic of keywords and we will be using examples from our current promotion work to help attendees develop their skills in this area and respond to feedback for ongoing training. Thanks to those who give their skills for this training and support. If you work with the Marketing Team and would like to join this event, drop a note in the channel and we can help signpost the relevant links.
What are we working on?
The team is continuing to support on a number of initiatives and tasks. The key focus is around:
- Learn WordPress
- Meetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. promotions
- Promoting the latest WordPress release
- Newsletter
- Supporting contributor events
- Assisting new contributors
We have lots of ways for contributors to get involved. Come to the weekly global meetings at 15:00 UTC on Slack (more details below) or contribute async in the 48 hours after the meeting if this time doesn’t work for your timezone and other commitments.
Contributor support sessions for early 2021 – open to those returning to the team and wanting a refresher and to those who have pledged to contribute under Five for the Future.
