Agenda

In response to feedback, testing and in trying to continue to make contributing more inclusive, we now include:

  • how you can get involved with particular tasks within the agenda on the Marketing blog
  • this and our other measures are aimed at helping people contribute async due to their timezone or other schedules, and for accessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers).   • enable us to cover even more items during the weekly meeting and collaborations
  • provide a clear sign-post for new contributors and those coming back to the team after a break, and highlight the wide range of activities
  • enables other teams to get involved with, support and request help more easily

8. WordPress Meetups promotions for September and October 2020

Get involved: You can help amplify the social media promotions by retweeting/ sharing our posts which can be found on the WordPress Marketing Team’s LinkedIn page, and in other channels – search #OnlineWPMeetup . In the future, we will also be using the #OnlineWPMeetupNews to help MeetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. organizers who have replied to our survey. We will be continuing to work with @HariShankar on this in the community team.

    We will use Google Meet with live captioning if needed, Slack, Make WordPress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. and trac, GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. Thursday 1 October 2020, 19:30 UTC – Virtual Coffee Break, on video conferencing and Slack for those unable to join on video. We also hold short coffee breaks on Monday and Tuesday to be inclusive of other timezones when we have enough demand and a team repTeam Rep A Team Rep is a person who represents the Make WordPress team to the rest of the project, make sure issues are raised and addressed as needed, and coordinates cross-team efforts. is available.
