Introduction
These summary notes focus on key items and actions from the meeting and to assist with an asynchronous contribution to the Global Marketing Team. For those unable to attend a meeting due to timezone issues, please do join the discussion threads and tasks on Trello after the meeting and send your updates.
Meeting notes
Each week we have a contributor who has been with us for a while draft notes supported by one of the working groups. This is then worked on further by the wider group by Saturday morning and used to plan follow-ups, report back to linked teams, give feedback, and plan actions by the Monday 11am UTC meeting.
We now have a rota of volunteers to help with this initial draft. We are increasingly writing our updates for team meetings in such a way that they make it easier to be used in our new system of notes and actions and simply copied to the draft notes.

- To @lmurillom, @nalininonstopnewsuk and @webcommsat for their huge push on the WPDiversity task. Our team got a mention in the community channel for members’ help with this.
- To @maedahbatool, @harryjackson1221, @mikerbg, @webcommsat, and @yvettesonneveld, who had another planning session on how to recruit, train and retain more contributors.
- To @webcommsat and @yvettesonneveld, who had a meeting with @hlashbrooke discussing launch strategies for learn.wordpress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/
- To @webcommsat, @vimes1984, @lmurillom, @OGlekler, @nullbyte, @annezazu for their work on the WordPress 5.5 Q&A’s. And to @richtabor, @sergeybiryukov and other members from core Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. who have been helping with final factchecking.
- To @yvettesonneveld, who will co-lead the WordPress 5.6 marcom team with @webcommsat, and the cohort @michelleames, @bmcdede @afshanadiya as team members, and to @francina, @marybaum, @cbringmann as team mentors.

Diverse Speakers Workshops

Participants do not need to have participated in one of the workshops.

WordPress 5.5 Release Q&As and Promos

Our Q&A working groups get to learn about a particular aspect of WordPress, read up in more detail about it, and take part with other teams on creating useful content for end users. If you have this experience and a corporate, NGO or software background, come and join us.
@yvettesonneveld recommends those involved plan to attend or follow the weekly Dev Chat in the Core channel to your schedule. This will greatly help understanding the project and the way releasing the software happens.

- We need researchers, devs, marketers, communicators to collaborate on the 5.5 Q&As for nontech users. Please reach out to @webcommsat (@abhanonstopnewsuk on Slack) or @OGlekler if you would like to help.
- The Meetup promotions regarding the 5.5 release include slides we have been asked for. If anyone else is able to help with this, please reach out to @webcommsat (@abhanonstopnewsuk on Slack) as soon as possible.
