Celebration/Achievements in the Last Week
- @Kate Bolin: I can set up and take down a stand at a WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. in under 15 minutes.
- @siobhanseija: A lot of great work was done at contribution events this weekend! At WordCamp London, we boarded a few new contributors. They did some great work and finished 3 case studies. Also, @Ndidi Nkabu and @domkawula worked on a roundup of the day. Dominik is editing a video and Didi has set up a blog post to accompany that.
- @siobhanseija: Meanwhile, at WordCamp Torino, people teamed up with WPTV to do some video interviews as well. They’ve also collected information on what each table was working on, and will publish a blog post on the WordCamp Torino site. They’ll share the link in this channel. CC @GiuliaRobert
- @Ndidi Nkabu: Hello! Thank you all for helping me get situated on my first Contributor DayContributor Day Contributor Days are standalone days, frequently held before or after WordCamps but they can also happen at any time. They are events where people get together to work on various areas of https://make.wordpress.org/ There are many teams that people can participate in, each with a different focus. https://2017.us.wordcamp.org/contributor-day/ https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/getting-started/getting-started-at-a-contributor-day/.. I’ll get the blog post to you in the next couple of days. WordCamp was a revelation. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Task Lead Updates
- @miker: The policy on 3rd policy promotion should be ready for approval, and I updated the card on the board. https://trello.com/c/9FroxKDq/269-policy-on-3rd-party-promotion-in-contributor-channels
- @harryjackson1221: We met Monday and worked on the Showcase Submission Form https://trello.com/c/RoESDCbZ/12-submit-a-site-wireframe. We meet every Monday at 14 UTC/10 AM EST if you wish to be added. We are waiting to get a channel created because there are a few more that want to be included.

- This was worked on by newcomer @Lauren Maidens, so thanks a bunch for that! It’s a full first version so ready for an editing round. https://trello.com/c/GGay2lhq/10-zaib-dot-%E2%84%A2-case-study. This was worked on by another newcomer, @Ali-WPFiddlyBits, thanks a lot as well! Same story: a first version ready for an editing round.
- Oh, I realize they might not be visible to everyone. It’s two case studies from the separate Case study board @harryjackson1221 and I are setting up.
- And, I think @Maziar is still out and about discovering London, but he did the same for this case study: https://trello.com/c/Nn1iSkQ7/7-case-study-for-land-trust-alliance-by-2-dogs-media.
- @harryjackson1221: You can use this link to add yourself to the Case Studies board: https://trello.com/invite/b/Ono8rTJK/2b1d38f86b07674bd2c554e7417e5b68/case-studies-showcase
- @siobhanseija: So, we’re in need of some editors!! Who is into editing some copy? We’ll make sure one of the team reps takes a final look before publishing but it would be great to get some help here.
