Celebration/Achievements in the Last Week

  • @siobhanseija — Met with @joostdevalk today to discuss some things we can work on next week, at WC London’s CD. Will work them into the TrelloTrello Project management system using the concepts of boards and cards to organize tasks in a sane way. This is what the make.wordpress.com/marketing team uses for example: https://trello.com/b/8UGHVBu8/wp-marketing. card at a later time @abhanonstopnewsuk! If you’ll be there and joining the marketing table, let me know!
  • @harryjackson1221 — We set up a running time for the Showcase Action Plan meeting – Mondays at 10am EST / 7am Pacific!
  • @michelleames — I was on two podcasts about WordPress in the last 12 days. Sharing the WP Love!
  • @harryjackson1221 — And we got alot of work done regarding outlining the form needed for submissions!
  • @michelleames — The Work for WCUS is WELL UNDERWAY, too!

Task Lead Updates

  • @siobhanseija — @abhanonstopnewsuk had already shared her updates just before this meeting started, which were a lot!
  • @harryjackson1221 — Showcase Action Plan: We met this Monday, at 10 am EST. We have decided to make that our weekly meeting time, so feel free to let me or one of the other team reps know if you want to join! We have outlined the necessary info needed for form submissions, and are fleshing out the paged form this coming week. We are also working on a copy to outline what is needed before going on to the form, to ensure that submitters can provide enough info.
  • @miker — I drafted a policy for the handbook on promoting 3rd party links through our contributor channels. I used the previous policy on external links from marketing pages as a guide.
  • @harryjackson1221 — Case Studies: We are going to start revamping the guidelines for these to fit the new format, so we can have some content to use when we do get the Showcase redesigned. This is going to be some exciting work, including gathering the currently published case studies and getting the screenshots together.  We will start organizing this work once the requirements have been completed, but there is plenty to work on in the meantime!
  • @siobhanseija — Which reminds me that we published this great post by @abhanonstopnewsuk and @Maziar since last meeting: https://make.wordpress.org/marketing/2019/03/20/why-contributing-to-wordpress-benefits-everyone/

New Business

  • @siobhanseija — We’re collecting things to work on at WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. London next week, so if you’re just now thinking of something: please add it to this card. That way we’ll be able to prepare so we know what to do when the day comes.
