The Make Marketing team is currently inactive. Work on the WordPress Showcase remains open to contributions, and marketing amplification requests can be made via GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged by the repository owner. https://github.com/. For those with marketing talents, we currently recommend connecting with the Community team to promote WordPress events or with one of the many other Make teams. For any other ideas or discussions unrelated to these contributing areas, you can use the GitHub discussion area or Make Slack.

Task Lead Updates
TrelloTrello Project management system using the concepts of boards and cards to organize tasks in a sane way. This is what the make.wordpress.com/marketing team uses for example: https://trello.com/b/8UGHVBu8/wp-marketing. Link: https://trello.com/c/UWkDN0Kc/237-rolling-stone-case-study
@harryjackson1221 is running into some problems using GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. https://wordpress.org/gutenberg/. He’ll create a metaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress. tracTrac Trac is the place where contributors create issues for bugs or feature requests much like GitHub.https://core.trac.wordpress.org/. ticket for it, @joostdevalk will look into that.

Request by Joost
As @joostdevalk is going to look into a WordPress marketing and communications strategy he’s looking for the team’s input. His request:
“Forget everything you know about WordPress marketing as it is right now for a short time, and think of what you think Marketing for WordPress should mean and what we as a project (not necessarily only this team) should be doing in terms of marketing activities.“
So to anyone reading this: if you have any ideas regarding WordPress marketing and communication, this is your chance. Share them with Joost through DM and he’ll use everyone’s input to build an overarching strategy.
