Task-Lead: @webcommsat

  • What is going well?
  1. i) Interviews at WCLDN
We now have the interview files from WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. London. Is there a Marketing Team logo we can use in addition to the WCLDN, WPLDN logos that will appear on these videos?

They are on  secure folder and the only copy. Please DM me if you are able to work on editing, subtitling these files.

  1. ii) Interviews done at WCBELFAST
Mark S is continuing to work on these and is carrying out the basic edit due to recording issues from the kit used. When this has been completed, we will be able to work on the final editing, subtitling of these files etc.
A Marketing logo, if available, would also be helpful for this.
  • What is at risk? N/A
  • What can someone new in Marketing help with?  As above, anyone able to assist existing volunteers. We need experienced video editors and those able to subtitle.

Trello Link:

Task Lead: @RachelPage / @gidgey

  • What is going well?  As I last updated, there have been some edits made to the document and some conversation regarding the blog. However, due to a product launch at work I have been unable to dedicate any time to this right now.
  • What is at risk?  Nothing is at risk, but because of my busy schedule I am not sure how much time I can dedicate to this right now.
  • What can someone new in Marketing help with? Completing document edits and writing the first draft of the blog post.

Curated list of marketing videos on WordPress.TV  (9/19/18)

Task-lead: @webcommsat

  • What is going well? We continue to have lot more people adding to this list either as reviewers or subtitlers.
  • What is at risk? Need more people to help edit the commentaries coming in.
  • What can someone new in Marketing help with?  Add your suggestions to the spreadsheet, choose a video to subtitle or help review comments if you have an expertise in the topic.

Contributor interviews WCEU18 (9/19/18)

Task-lead: @Dushanthipiek1
Siobhanseija: spoke to Dushanthi about this today as she probably won’t be in for another couple of weeks

webcommsat: I was trying to get hold of a logo for her too. I will cover this on one of the other cards.

siobhanseija : The video is finished, thanks to some hard work by @Yashwardhan Rana (thank you!). All that’s left is subtitling. We’ve submitted the video to and are waiting for it to be accepted. Once that happens, I’ll add the subtitles

Siobhanseija: it needs to be online to add subtitles through Amara so we thought we could go ahead and submit it. If I need to send a message that it still needs a logo, let me know. I didn’t know about that, was just trying to move this forward :slightly_smiling_face:

webcommsat: We had hoped to add a WordPress marketing logo to this video. Is there one we can use? [Update – there is not a logo, but there is a ‘brand name’ and a web link we could use.]
@siobhanseija once it is subtitled, we can add some tags based on some work that has been done on this. It is going to be really great. Well done @dushanthi and @Yashwardhan Rana

Siobhanseija: makes it super easy to add subtitles, but it needs an online link of the video for that. When submitting it there’s no place to add tags so I guess that’s something we can do afterwards anyway?

First Time at WordCamp? Here’s What You Need to Know.  (9/19/18)

Task-lead: @nalininonstopnewsuk, @webcommsat and @siobhanseija to help take this forward. Please do join us. Update from Abha:

  • What is going well?  From an initial review of materials out there to use at the end of this article and to pick out highlights within it, I have found that some of the bigger WordCamps are doing considerable work on supporting/ welcoming first time WordCampers and first time Contributors. To help capture some of the amazing initiatives and marketing  to this audience segment, I have drafted messages to go out on Slack and Twitter to encourage organisers and those new to add to a shared sheet with their examples, upload images of their campaigns (some of which may be added to the social media appendix document). This will also have a practical aspect of helping any organisers currently looking at this area and promoting how the Make WordPress marketing team is supporting and how they can help.
  • What is at risk/ to be aware of? Nothing at risk. Need to make sure we do not use any campaigns a WordCamp tells us about which it has not launched yet to avoid affecting the impact of their planned communications.
  • What can someone new in Marketing help with?  Assistance with the Google sheet and collection of images, which could also be used for the social media appendix document.
