Getting Involved

All are welcome and encouraged to join in, comment on posts, and participate in meetings and on projects:

Today’s Meeting

The marketing team has unified at WCUS. Here is the document for our meeting notes. Feel free to read the scroll back in Slack.

We do not have a meeting 12/27/17 or 1/3/18.

@bridgetwillard began the meeting by starting a discussion on “cleaning things up” and getting our ideas down.

Task of the day ‘WP Jargon Glossary for New People’

@harryjackson1221 suggested we organize jargon terms alphabetically, rather than sorting in categories, @bridgetwillard agreed; there was some discussion regarding how to sort the terms.

@harryjackson1221 suggested using brand descriptions from the actual brands, such as MySQLMySQL MySQL is a relational database management system. A database is a structured collection of data where content, configuration and other options are stored., ApacheApache Apache is the most widely used web server software. Developed and maintained by Apache Software Foundation. Apache is an Open Source software available for free., ReactReact React is a JavaScript library that makes it easy to reason about, construct, and maintain stateless and stateful user interfaces.

Assisting CoreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress.-Flow with review of GutenbergGutenberg The Gutenberg project is the new Editor Interface for WordPress. The editor improves the process and experience of creating new content, making writing rich content much simpler. It uses ‘blocks’ to add richness rather than shortcodes, custom HTML etc. Usability Videos

@bridgetwillard and @harryjackson1221 discussed helping the core-flow channel get people to assist processing Gutenberg videos, by blogging or tweeting to raise awareness.
