The Make Marketing team is currently inactive. Work on the WordPress Showcase remains open to contributions, and marketing amplification requests can be made via GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged by the repository owner. https://github.com/. For those with marketing talents, we currently recommend connecting with the Community team to promote WordPress events or with one of the many other Make teams. Subgroup Goals
Marketing WordPress to End-Users: this subgroup focuses on marketing to end-users of WordPress: Site Owners, Small Business owners, and Content creators / bloggers / contributors. Information is more focused on the usability of the software, Features and integrations which will help them self-manage their websites, and information comparing WordPress to other website solution. - We began today’s meeting by talking about updating any Codex documents which have end-user features in them or are introductions for end-users. We ultimately decided to park the issue.
- We used today’s meeting to talk about Marketing Meta Tasks.
- We decided to work on “WordPress Marketing Team: Who are We?”
- We briefly talked about Open Source Meetups and how we might be able to help the Foundation on this effort.
- We will also arrange to write content for #WPTranslationDay Blog for the Polyglot team.
